In all seriousness, the fact that Rockstar didn’t drop even a *single* screenshot alongside the GTA 6 delay is both baffling and aggravating to me.
I feel that it’s completely illogical from both a business standpoint as well as a personal one. I could be wrong, but hear me out.
Rockstar’s approach of making us wait a while for GTA 6 news so when stuff does eventually come it hits harder is VERY effective. However, there comes a point where it’s just too much in my opinion. It feels almost insulting to delay the game by six entire months with just a measly paragraph and nothing else to cushion the blow.
All they’ve achieved with this announcement is disappointment. They’ve not made any attempt to please their fanbase with something whatsoever and I just don’t understand it. What downsides are there to giving us just one screenshot? Surely alienating your customers only damages the goodwill centred around the game?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not upset about the delay itself. Rockstar are perfectionists and I’m not gonna complain about eventually receiving a better product for my money. There’s no question that GTA 6 will be a masterpiece and this delay only signifies that even further.
But still, the way that they’ve gone about this delay just really confuses me. I can’t understand how this is smart from a business POV and I need someone to explain it to me.
