The best plan often overestimates the benefits (the curse of the optimizer)→ Take taking risks as a skill a few times without accidents (normalization of deviations)→ The more confident you are, the more daring you are to gamble (risk compensation) Every "successful optimization" is quietly thinning your margin of safety. The fattest turkey is still celebrating its "optimal survival strategy" the day before Thanksgiving. I'd rather live "almost" than die "perfectly".
