The problem here is that the @CNBC hosts never hit Warren with the reason it costs so much to live in NYC; it’s because of the welfare state that she and Mamdani support and want to expand and is unsustainable. It hits the middle class — not just the wealthy — with massively high taxes; it pushes rent control as a corrective to high rents but it is a huge disincentive to building of units; we basically have free healthcare for any migrant who shows up; our schools suck because people like her and Mamdani support a costly educational bureaucracy.
