What are internet capital markets? 1. Capital markets are a concept, not something physical but made up of many interconnected parts. 2. Capital markets are where those that need capital (especially large entities) meet those that have capital (and want a return) in public, e.g. the stock market, bond markets. 3. Everyone is a participant in capital markets, whether they know it or not. When you deposit into a bank, buy insurance, buy a home, your capital is participating in capital markets. 4. "Internet capital markets" = "capital markets" but with tokenized assets (on @Solana 🫡) and onchain markets. Tokenized stocks & bonds, tokenized money market funds and so on. 5. Can ICM refer to startups raising capital? Not by the traditional definition of capital markets. 6. One could say a goal of the crypto movement is to convert all private markets into public markets, making them more fair and more accessible. In theory, raising capital onchain is sort of like "microcapital markets." In summary, using "internet capital markets" to mean everything from early stage capital to RWAs is avant garde (and I support it fully) but note it will be confusing to anyone from outside of our bubble.
