🇺🇸 META TAPS GPT-4 CO-CREATOR SHENGJIA ZHAO TO LEAD SUPERINTELLIGENCE LABS
Meta named Shengjia Zhao, co-creator of GPT‑4 and former OpenAI researcher, as Chief Scientist of Meta Superintelligence Labs.
Zhao will work alongside Mark Zuckerberg and Alexandr Wang, former Scale AI CEO.
Zhao said he's focused on building artificial superintelligence aligned with human interests.
The appointment comes as Meta pours billions into AI, offering massive compensation to lure top talent.
The lab launch follows a rocky Llama 4 rollout and reflects Meta’s pivot toward product-focused superintelligence development.
